NORMANDY, MO — The University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s soccer team closed out the regular season with a 2-1 win over rival Missouri S&T on Sunday.
With that win, UMSL, which had already clinched its second straight Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season championship, ended the regular season with a 13-1-3 record and a 16-match unbeaten streak.
UMSL’s only loss this season came in the season opener back in August.

The Tritons, who were undefeated in GLVC play (12-0-2), will be the No. 1 seed in the GLVC Championship Tournament, which will begin this weekend, when UMSL hosts Lewis University on Saturday.
Opening kick for that contest at the Don Dallas Soccer Field is slated for 5 p.m., and the match will be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network.
The winners of this weekend’s four quarterfinal matches will advance to the semifinals, which will be played on Thursday, November 5.
The GLVC Tournament Championship Game will be played on Saturday, November 7. Both the semifinals and championship game will be played at the Cooper Sports Complex in Springfield, Mo.
UMSL lost in the GLVC Tournament first round last year, but did advance to the NCAA Tournament national quarterfinals, before finishing the year with a 15-5-2 record.
Before the postseason begins, UMSL will conclude the regular season this Sunday, with a trip to Rolla for a road game against Missouri S&T. That contest will kick off at noon and will also be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network.
