ST. LOUIS, MO — Spring football fans were excited by the news that the XFL and USFL would merge and form the new United Football League for 2024.
That excitement grew even more when it was announced that the St. Louis Battlehawks would be one of the teams brought back to play this season.
The league just completed its Dispersal and Super Dispersal Drafts, as teams build their rosters for 2024.
Now, fans are waiting to find out what the season schedule will look like and when the Battlehawks might be hosting their home games this year.
That news might have been leaked out recently when Broadway Battlehawks, a company that sells tailgate and parking passes near the Dome at America’s Center for St. Louis Battlehawks home games released info about when those dates might be.
Each team in the UFL will play 10 games in 2024 — five at home and five on the road — and according to Broadway Battlehawks, the dates available for St. Louis Battlehawks home tailgating and parking passes are April 6, April 13, May 4, May 18, and June 1.
A quick check of the Dome at America’s Center events schedule shows those dates are all open, and would be perfect choices for Battlehawks home games.
The UFL has not revealed the official schedule yet, but it is known the season opener will be on March 30, when the two defending league champions — the Arlington Renegades (XFL) and Birmingham Stallions (USFL) — will meet.
The XFL and USFL played separate, partially overlapping schedules in 2023. The leagues announced an intent to merge on Sept. 28 and received approval from federal regulators Nov. 30. The XFL had previously discussed a partnership with the Canadian Football League in 2021, but negotiations did not lead to an agreement.
