The St. Louis Battlehawks made a key addition to its secondary on Thursday, when it re-signed All-XFL defensive back Lavert Hill.
Last season, Hill was one of the leaders of the Battlehawks defense. He recorded 25 tackles, six pass breakups, and two interceptions, while starting and playing in all 10 games.

Following the XFL season, Hill signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL and was on that team’s training camp roster.
Hill played his college football at Michigan, where he racked up 57 tackles and six interceptions during his career there. He earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors in 2017. The former Wolverine was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and was a four-year letterman in college.
He was not selected in the 2020 NFL draft, but was scooped up by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. He had short practice squad stints with a few NFL teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals, before landing with the Battlehawks.
