The Saint Louis University athletic department recently announced its 2024 men’s baseball schedule.
The Billikens will play 52 regular season games, which includes 28 non-conference games throughout the season and 24 Atlantic 10 Conference contests, before the A-10 Conference Tournament in May.
Last year, Saint Louis finished the year with a 33-23 record and advanced all the way to the A-10 Tourney title game, before losing to George Mason.
“Our non-conference schedule will have us ready for a great Atlantic 10 Conference slate with a veteran team back and ready to go,” SLU head baseball coach Darin Hendrickson said.
The Billikens open the season on a six-game road trip, playing St. Thomas, Maine and Illinois State in Port Charlotte, Fla., Feb. 16-18, before concluding the slate with a three-game weekend against Western Illinois in Millington, Tenn., and a mid-week matchup at SIUE.
The Billikens return to St. Louis to play 11 of their next 15 games including their home opener against Le Moyne March 1-3, and other weekend series against Loyola Marymount and Cincinnati.
“We look forward to a great 2024 schedule opening in Port Charlotte, Fla., and bringing the Big 12’s Cincinnati and West Coast regional team LMU into St. Louis for the first time,” Hendrickson said.
SLU will also welcome in-state rival Missouri State for lone Sunday game before ending the month of March traveling to Kansas and hosting its first A-10 opponent of the season, Rhode Island, March 28-30.
The Billikens will then travel to St. Joseph’s before hosting Davidson to continue its conference slate before ending the month of April on an eight-game road trip highlighted by stops at A-10 opponents, Fordham and George Washington.
The midweek contests in the final two months include home games against Lindenwood and Southern Indiana and road matchups at Butler and the Lions for a second time.
“Challenging midweeks with KU and Missouri State along with our traditional rival in SIUE makes for a fun non-conference slate and our A-10 play features all teams that made the tourney,” Hendrickson said.
SLU will welcome George Mason to the Billiken Sports Complex before wrapping up its regular season at UMass, May 16-18.
The A-10 Championship will be played at Capitol One Park in Tysons, Va., May 21-25.
