The Saint Louis University women’s basketball team thought its 2023-24 season ended when it was eliminated in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament on March 9, but that turned out to not be true, as the Billikens were invited on Monday and agreed to play in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament, which will begin this week.
Saint Louis, which boasts a 17-18 record after winning its final three regular season games and two games in the A-10 tourney, will play Central Arkansas on Thursday, in a game at that school’s Farris Center in Conway, Ark. Central Arkansas has a 21-11 record and is 14-0 at home this season.
Thursday’s matchup is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m., and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
This year marks the 26th edition of the Postseason WNIT, powered by Triple Crown Sports and first held in 1998. The tournament field is made up of 11 automatic qualifiers and 37 at-large programs, flexing a mix of Power 4 conferences as well as ascending mid-major programs.
