ST. LOUIS, MO — The Saint Louis University women’s soccer team celebrated Senior Day, with a dominant 4-0 victory over Richmond, Sunday afternoon at Hermann Stadium.

Four different Billiken players scored goals and two others had two assists, as Saint Louis controlled the action right from the opening kick.

Seniors Emily Groark, Anna Lawler, Abbie Miller and Jess Preusser were honored prior to the game, and then each went out and gave a terrific performance to lead SLU to the win.

Hannah Larson (3), Caroline Kelly (6), Lawler (2), and Hannah Sawyer (5) scored the goals for Saint Louis, and Lyndsey Heckel and Izzy Luebbert were the players with two assists, as the Billikens improved their overall record to 10-2-2 and took over sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 5-0-1 mark.

The win also extended SLU’s current unbeaten streak to nine games (7-0-2).

BILLIKEN NOTABLES provided by SLU sports information

•The Billikens reached a double-digit win total for an eighth consecutive year.
•Saint Louis earned advantages of 25-3 in total shots, 9-3 in shots on goal and 12-1 in corner kicks. The 25 shots are a season high, while the 12 corner kicks equaled the Bills’ season best.
•All four Billiken goals were produced by new player combinations. Saint Louis has 29 assisted goals this year, produced by 27 different player combos.
•Caroline Kelly’s goal was her sixth of the season, tying for the team lead. Kelly moved into a fifth-place tie with Maureen Hughes and Dee Guempel on SLU’s career goals list (25) and took sole possession of ninth place on the Billikens’ career points list (59).

Saint Louis will play perhaps its biggest match of the regular season on Thursday, when it hosts Massachusetts at Hermann Stadium. The Minutewomen (7-3-4) have a 4-1-2 conference record, which puts them in fourth place in the league standings. But a win for UMass could leap them past all three teams in front of them and into first place, depending on the outcome of other matches around the league.

Opening kick on Thursday is scheduled for 7 p.m.
