EVANSVILLE, IN — The No. 12-ranked Saint Louis University women’s soccer team scored three goals in the first half and another in the second to cruise to a 4-0 win in an exhibition game against the University of Evansville, Saturday evening at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
Saint Louis scored a pair of quick goals — one in the ninth minute and another in the 11th minute — to take an early 2-0 lead. The Billikens then added a third score in the 29th minute to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
SLU, which only allowed Evansville four shots the entire game, added a fourth goal in the 75th minute to close out the scoring.
Saturday’s contest will be Saint Louis’ only preseason game.
SLU will now focus on the regular season, which will begin on Thursday, August 15, when the Billikens will host Kansas City (formerly known as UMKC) in a non-conference game at Hermann Stadium. Thursday’s opening kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
