PITTSBURGH, PA — Emily Gaebe broke Saint Louis University women’s soccer career record for goals scored and total points by scoring three goals in the Billikens’ 5-0 win over Duquesne, in an Atlantic 10 Conference match, Sunday afternoon at Rooney Field.
Gaebe, a senior midfielder and four-year starter from Union, Mo., now has 43 career goals, surpassing the previous record of 41 set by Jamie Perry (2001-04), and 107 points, breaking the previous mark of 105 held by Hannah Friedrich (2018-22).
Her three goals on Sunday gave her 11 on the season and was the 10th hat trick in SLU women’s soccer history.
Gaebe led the A-10 in goals and total scoring last season, on her way to being named A-10 Offensive Player of the Year, and she leads the league again this season in both categories. Following Sunday’s game, Gaebe has 11 goals and 25 points this season.

With the victory, Saint Louis is now 7-1-5 on the season and 3-0-2 in conference play. SLU’s only loss this season came on September 1 against No. 5-ranked Penn State. Since then, the Billikens are on an eight-game unbeaten streak.
Duquesne fell to 8-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play. The Lady Dukes have also lost three games in a row.
Gaebe scored the first goal of the game, on an unassisted play, in the sixth minute. She then broke the goals record, with her second goal, which came on a play assisted by Hope Kim and Sophia Stram, in the ninth minute.
Lyndsey Heckel scored on a penalty-kick goal in the 14th minute to put SLU up 3-0 heading into halftime.
Gaebe’s third goal came in the 53rd minute, on a play assisted by Julia Simon. That was the play that gave Gaebe the points scored record.
Jordan Gary scored her first goal of the season in the 86th minute to close out the game. She is the 12th Billiken player to score a goal this season.
SLU goalkeeper Emily Puricelli made two saves and posted her fifth solo shutout of the season.
The Billikens will have the week off for mid-terms, before returning to action on next Sunday, October 13, with a match against VCU.
Opening kick is scheduled for 1 p.m.
