ST. CHARLES, MO — After enjoying its bye week and coming off a fun win over Tennessee-Martin two weeks ago, the Lindenwood University football team will be back on the field Saturday, for a huge matchup of first place teams against NCAA FCS No. 8-ranked and undefeated Tennessee Tech.

Lindenwood is 3-3 on the year and 2-0 in the OVC-Big South Football Association. But this will be the Lions’ first matchup against a ranked opponent.

The Lions have played three Top 10 ranked FCS opponents in the program’s history and are 1-1 in those contests. Lindenwood lost to then No. 9 Central Arkansas in 2023, but defeated Back Yard Brawl rival SEMO when it was ranked No. 6 last season.

This will be the fourth meeting all-time between the Lions and Golden Eagles. The home team has won each of the previous three contests.

Players to Watch: Lindenwood will be led by QB Nate Glantz, who leads the conference in passing. The redshirt senior has thrown for 1,344 yards and eight touchdowns. Glantz has also rushed for 206 yards and scored five rushing touchdowns.

Lindenwood’s top receivers this year have been redshirt freshman Rico Bond, who is fourth in the OVC-Big South with 28 catches for 355 yards and also tied for the league lead with five touchdown receptions.

Sophomores Drew Krobath and Jalen Smith have also been effective. Krobath actually leads the Lions in receiving yards (369), while Smith is coming off a career-high game of three catches for 146 yards and a touchdown in Lindenwood’s win over UT-Martin.

LB Jacob Waller leads Lindenwood’s defense with 49 total tackles (29 solo) and six tackles for loss this season.

Tennessee Tech will come to town with one of FCS’s best offenses and defenses. The Golden Eagles lead the OVC-Big South in both categories — averaging 51.7 points scored and just 12.0 points allowed per game this season.

QB Kekoa Visperas is second in the conference with 1,338 passing yards and he leads the league with 14 touchdown passes.

WR Noah Robinson has been his top target. The redshirt senior has 24 catches for 332 yards and five touchdowns.

Up Next: Lindenwood will be at home again next week to take on the other team in the three-team tie for first in the OVC-Big South, Gardner-Webb.

That game will be on Saturday, October 25 at Hunter Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
