AUBURN, AL — After beginning the season with six straight home games, the University of Missouri football team will take its first trip on the road, Saturday evening, when it heads way down south to take on Auburn at historic Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Missouri will enter the matchup coming off a tough loss to SEC powerhouse and current NCAA No. 6 Alabama. The Tigers trailed for much of the day, but rallied late to get close. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to get close enough and Bama handed Mizzou a 27-24 loss.
The Tigers are now 5-1 overall, ranked No. 16 in the country, and 1-1 in the SEC.
Auburn has lost three straight — all to ranked opponents. The Tigers are 3-3 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
Missouri is 2-3 all time against Auburn, with the last meeting coming in 2023 — a 17-14 overtime win for Auburn, which came after it kicked a field goal on its OT possession, then forced a fumble through the back of the end zone on Missouri’s OT possession.

Players to Watch: Even with its loss to Alabama, Mizzou remains one of the top rushing teams in the country, led by sophomore Ahmad Hardy who still leads the SEC with 782 yards and nine rushing touchdowns. Teammate Jamal Roberts is 10th in the SEC with 400 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
Mizzou QB Beau Pribula had a rough outing against Alabama as well, but he still ranks among the league leaders with 1,365 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. WR Kevin Coleman leads the SEC with 40 catches.
On defense, LB Josiah Trotter leads the Tigers with 36 tackles (17 solo) and DE Damon Wilson leads the team with 5.5 quarterback sacks.

RB Jeremiah Cobb has 453 rushing yards, four touchdowns, and averages 6.5 yards per carry. And WRs Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton have combined for 584 yards and scored four touchdowns.
