COLUMBIA, MO — The University of Missouri football team will go for its third straight win to begin the 2025 season on Saturday, when it hosts the University of Louisiana in a game at Faurot Field. Kickoff is set noon.
In its first two games, Missouri has looked fantastic. The Tigers blew away Central Arkansas, 61-6, in its opener. Then pulled off a roaring comeback for a 42-31 win in the ‘Border War’ game last week against archrival Kansas.
This week, Mizzou will host the Ragin’ Cajuns — a team picked to contend for the Sun Belt Conference championship, after winning the league’s West Division last year.
Louisiana will come into Saturday’s matchup with a 1-1 record, after losing its opener to Rice, but then bouncing back for a 34-10 win over McNeese last week.

Players to Watch: Mizzou has had a bunch of players shine in its first two wins. None brighter than new starting quarterback Beau Pribula, who will enter Saturday as one of the SEC’s top-rated passers with 617 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions in his first two games.
Mizzou’s running backs have also been stars so far. Sophomore transfer Ahmad Hardy is second in the SEC with 212 yards and has rushed for at least 100 yards in both games, while fellow sophomore Jamal Roberts is close behind with 176 yards and a league-best 8.4 yards per carry average.
New wideout Kevin Coleman, Jr., a St. Louis native, has been one of the SEC’s top pass catchers. He has 16 grabs for 174 yards and a touchdown. Fellow St. Louisan, Brett Norfleet, Mizzou’s 6-foot-7 tight end, caught two touchdowns, including the eventual game-winner in last week’s win.
The Mizzou defense has been led by sophomore linebacker Josiah Trotter, who has 13 tackles (seven solo) in the Tigers’ two wins.

Louisiana also has a pair of RBs it likes in Bill Davis and Zylan Perry. Davis leads the Cajuns with 190 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Perry is a speedster, who has 140 yards this year.
The Ragin’ Cajun defense features a pair of dynamo linebackers in Jaden Dugger and Terrance Williams. Both are major playmakers, who are tied for the team lead with 13 tackles.

Up Next: Mizzou will be home again next week to open up SEC play. The Tigers will host No. 11 South Carolina, who is hosting Vanderbilt on Saturday night.
Kickoff time for the Tigers and Gamecocks is not set yet. But we do know it will be a night game. The SEC league offices will announce on Monday or Tuesday if the game will kickoff at 6 p.m. and air on ABC, or if it will be 6:30 p.m. and air on ESPN.
