It was supposed to be a big weekend of game action for several Lindenwood University sports teams, including a road trip for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, a home-and-home battle for the men’s hockey team, and a trip to the NWCA National Duals for the men’s wrestling team.

But things didn’t work out as planned, due to Covid issues within the Lindenwood athletics program, so the basketball teams had to call off their games at the University of Indianapolis, the hockey team had to postpone both its home and road games against the University of Illinois, and the wrestling team had to take perhaps the biggest blow, as it was forced to miss one of its biggest events of the year.

Some Lindenwood teams did get to play their games this weekend. The women’s hockey team was shorthanded, but still got to play its weekend series against Ohio State, while the men’s volleyball also got to take its trip to California to play a two-game set against Stanford.

If allowed to be back on schedule, the Lindenwood hoops teams will be back in action on Thursday, January 13, when the Lion men and women are both slated to host Illinois-Springfield at Hyland Arena.

The men’s wrestling team has a home meet set for Wednesday, January 12, against William Jewell. And the men’s hockey team, which remains the No. 1-ranked team in the country, is scheduled to go on the road the next two weekends, with two-game sets against Iowa State (January 14 and 15), and Arizona State (January 21 and 22).
