ST. CHARLES, MO — The Lindenwood Lions picked up their first win of the 2025-26 season by defeating the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, 116-51, Thursday night in an NCAA basketball game at Hyland Arena.
Six different Lindenwood players scored in double figures and all 11 members of the team that played scored at least one basket in the 65-point victory over the St. Louis pharmaceutical school that competes at the NAIA level.
“It was good to get some guys back healthy tonight.” Lindenwood head coach Kyle Gerdeman said. “Getting (Jadis Jones) and (Anias Futrell) back is really positive for our team and overall it feels good to get the first win and now we can move on to the next practice and keep trying to get better.”
Lindenwood took control right from the start, as it began the game with an 18-4 run, which featured several UHSP turnovers and five straight made shots by the Lions.
LU pushed its lead to as many as 41 points in the first half and led 62-24 at halftime.
The second half was more of the same, with Lindenwood leading by 50 with 10 minutes to go and by 60 with two minutes left on the clock.

Junior forward Robert Lewis led the Lions with 19 points and eight rebounds. Futrell, a senior from St. Louis, who played high school ball at McCluer, made his first appearance of the season and came off the bench to add 18 points, which included four made three-pointers.
Clayton Jackson and Mekhi Cooper both had double-doubles, with Jackson posting 13 points and 11 assists, and Cooper adding 10 points and 10 assists.
Grad student transfer Milos Nenadic and Jones were the others to reach double figures in points. Nenadic scored 17 and had five rebounds and three steals, while Jones contributed 16 points on five-of-five shooting, with six made free throws.
Lindenwood (1-1) will be back on the floor on Monday, when the Lions will make the short trip into St. Louis to take on Saint Louis University (2-0). The Lions and Billikens will tip off at Chaifetz Arena at 7 p.m., and that game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
