The Lindenwood University athletics program announced today that its football program will open the 2024 season with a non-conference game against Kansas at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan. The game will be played on Thursday, August 29, and will kick off at 7 p.m.

This will also be Lindenwood’s first game against an NCAA FBS opponent.

Due to renovations at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawerence, Kan., this game will be played at Children’s Mercy Park home of the Major League Soccer Club Sporting Kansas City. Located at One Sporting Way, Kansas City, Kan. this stadium seats 25,000 fans with 36 suites.

Lindenwood will host six games next season within Hunter Stadium, including four Big South-OVC league games. The Lions will open Big-South play on the road on September 28 at Eastern Illinois.

The Lions’ conference home opener is set for October 5 against Tennessee State.

The rest of Lindenwood’s 2024 football schedule is expected to be officially announced in April.
