Lindenwood All-American linebacker Drew Seers was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, following a 14-tackle, one-interception performance in the Lions’ 56-34 win over Kentucky Wesleyan last Saturday night.

Seers, who was named GLVC Defensive Player of the Year in 2019, won the weekly award for the fourth time in his career this week. Through three games, Seers is second in the conference with 33 total tackles. In 2019, he led the league with 175 tackles.

The interception, which came on diving play following a tipped ball, was Seers’ second this season and moved him into the top 10 all-time in the Lindenwood record book with five career interceptions.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday, when it will play its second road game of the season against Findlay. Lindenwood’s next home game will be Saturday, October 9, when the Lions will host their Homecoming Game at Hunter Stadium against Quincy.

Kickoff for LU’s Homecoming Game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
