ST. PAUL, MN — The Lindenwood University football team suffered a loss in its 2025 season opener on Thursday, when it fell to host St. Thomas, 35-13, in a non-conference game at O’Shaughnessy Stadium.

The Lions got a big day from junior quarterback Nate Glantz, who completed 18-of-29 passes for 318 yards and a touchdown. But St. Thomas dominated the line of scrimmage, rushing for 275 yards, led by senior running back Joseph Koch, who had 154 yards on 18 carries, which included an 18-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter that gave the Tommies a two-touchdown lead.

Lindenwood tried to rally back, but could never get back into scoring range, while St. Thomas added another score — its third rushing touchdown of the night — midway through the fourth to put the game away.

Sophomore wideout Drew Krobath led all receivers with five catches for 128 yards. Teammate John Anthony had a career-high four catches for 90 yards and a score as well.

On defense, senior safety Eric Gant led the Lions with nine tackles (six solo) and two pass breakups. Linebacker Jacob Waller had seven tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss.

Lindenwood will be on the road again next week, when it travels to Boone, N.C., to take on Appalachian State. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 2:30 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
