The Lindenwood University men’s hockey team put an end to a three-game losing streak and picked up its first road win of the season, Friday night, thanks to a 7-3 victory over host Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.

The Lions got goals by seven different players, including sophomore David Gagnon, who had a goal and three assists, and junior Hunter Johannes, who scored a goal and added two assists of his own.

Senior Ryan Finnegan scored what proved to be the game-winner, on a power-play midway through the second period. Finnegan, Gagnon, and Johannes are tied for the Lindenwood team lead with five goals scored this season.

Bentley scored a goal late in the second period, then another early in the third, to pull within 4-3. But Lindenwood added three goals of its own in the third, including the unassisted strike by Gagnon, to pull away for the victory.

The Lions are now 2-8 on the season and will move on to play Army, in a two-game set next weekend.
