COLUMBIA, MO — The University of Missouri men’s basketball team earned its 10th win of the 2025-26 season in its final home game of 2025 on Sunday, when it defeated Bethune-Cookman, 82-60, in a game at Mizzou Arena.

Missouri is now 10-2 on the season, after physically dominating visiting BCU throughout the day.

The Tigers outscored the Bobcats 50-18 in the paint and outrebounded them 34-20. It wasn’t until midway through the second half that BCU even reached double figures in points in the paint and several of its final baskets came late in the game, after Mizzou had removed its starters and top reserve players.

“Good win for us, but we’ve still got some things we need to work on,” Mizzou head coach Dennis Gates said. “I liked how we shared the ball and everybody was aggressive and in attack mode most of the game.”

Grad student senior Jacob Crews, who was making his second start of the season, led the Tigers in scoring for the second straight game. The 6-8 wing from Hilliard, Fla., scored 20 points (for the second game in a row), which included three three-point makes.

Junior forward Mark Mitchell had 19 points and team-highs of seven rebounds and four steals. Mitchell has now reached double digits in scoring in 11 straight games, which includes every game but the season opener.

Fellow junior Anthony Robinson had 15 points, seven assists, three blocked shots, and two steals to help power Mizzou’s defense effort.

“I think he’s just settling it in and learning how to play 30 minutes, plus getting into game shape,” Gates said. “Although you think it’s easy, but more so from not the physical (but) the mental and emotional (side), playing through fatigue, being able to make the right plays when you’re tired, being able to understand when to rest, especially during those TV media timeout opportunities — I thought he did a better job with that.”

The Tigers will now enjoy a full week off in order to get ready for the annual Braggin’ Rights Game against longtime rival Illinois.

That game will be next Monday, December 22, at Enterprise Center in St. Louis. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be televised national on the FS1 Network.

Mizzou’s next home game will be its Southeastern Conference opener on January 3, against the defending NCAA champion Florida Gators. That game will tip off at 7:30 p.m., and will be televised on the SEC Network.
