University of Missouri defensive end Darius Robinson was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced late Monday.

Robinson was also tabbed by the Reese’s Senior Bowl, as its co-Defensive Player of the Week.

The grad student senior from Southfield, Mich., led the Missouri defense in its road win over No. 23 Kentucky last Saturday. In his fourth straight game of playing through an injury, he totaled six tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, and a career high 2.0 quarterback sacks.

It was the first multiple sack game of Robinson’s career, in what proved to be a dominant performance, as the Tiger defense held Kentucky to just seven points and 149 yards of total offense after trailing 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The now No. 20-ranked Tigers return home to face South Carolina this Saturday, for Mizzou’s 112th Homecoming game. Kickoff at Faurot Field is slated for 2:30 p.m., with the game being televised live on the SEC Network.
