ST. CHARLES, MO — Lindenwood Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Coomer announced last week that the athletics department has set the broadcast team for the 2023 football season. Once again, Lindenwood alum Bob Ramsey will handle play-by-play duties, while Zach Zook will serve as the color commentator.
“We are excited to welcome back Bob Ramsey and Zach Zook to the booth,” Coomer said. “We are extremely fortunate to have two of the best bringing all of the action of Lindenwood football to living rooms and mobile devices around the community and world.”
A 1978 graduate of Lindenwood University, Ramsey will lead the broadcast team heading into its second NCAA Division I season. His career was built on the foundation forged at KCLC, a true example of the real experience leading to real success at Lindenwood. For the past 36 years, Ramsey has been the voice of the Saint Louis University Billikens men’s basketball team.
“We’re all very excited to embark on season two of Division I football at Lindenwood,” Ramsey said. “Our top notch LU broadcast team, especially leadership and production is looking forward to providing Lions’ fans with a quality broadcast on ESPN+.”
Ramsey won two Emmys while working for KPLR-TV. The five-time Missouri Broadcaster of the Year has called games for the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Ambush, and spent four years as the voice of Louisiana Tech men’s basketball.
Ramsey has been inducted into the Halls of Fame at Lindenwood University, Saint Louis University, Pattonville High School, and Missouri Amateur Baseball.
Joining Ramsey in the booth will be a familiar voice in Lindenwood Athletics, Zach Zook. Over the past six years, Zook has been the play-by-play voice for many Lindenwood events, including football, basketball, baseball, and softball. Zook was on the call for both football conference championship seasons for the Lions at the NCAA Division II level.
“The success of our broadcasts last year was a group achievement, from the tireless efforts of our production team led by Joe, Dan, and Brandon, to the calming experience of my partner, Bob, and the endless support from the Athletic Department,” Zook said. “Getting to know Bob and growing our chemistry together over the course of last season was great. I thought it really showed as the season went on, and I’m so excited to hit the ground running this fall.”
Zook is a 2017 graduate of Missouri, where he began his broadcasting career covering Mizzou athletics, as well as Lincoln University, and William Woods athletics.
Aside from his work at Lindenwood, Zook contributes to Pro Football Focus and has done so for the past five years.
