Lindenwood University placekicker Logan Seibert has earned a spot on the 2023 Fred Mitchell Award Preseason Watch List. The annual Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place-Kicker Award (also known as the Fred Mitchell Award) is provided to the nation’s top collegiate place-kicker.
The recipient of the award will be chosen based on excellence on the football field and in the community.
“It is with tremendous anticipation that our 35-person Selection Committee looks forward to the performances of non-FBS kickers this 2023 season–both on and off the field,” said Fred Mitchell. “The kickers on our Watch List, as well as others who might emerge, will have the full attention of our committee.”
The Award’s Watch List is released in August, top performers are recognized monthly during the college football season, and the winner (who is not required to be on the Watch List) is announced in December.
Last season, Seibert was a second-team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection, after going 11-of-14 field goals and 44-of-47 on extra points.
The school of the award winner receives scholarship funds and the Fred Mitchell Award trophy is presented each February at the National Football Foundation Chicago Metro Chapter Awards Ceremony at Halas Hall.
Lindenwood will begin the 2023 season with its home opener on Thursday, August 31, against Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
That matchup at Hunter Stadium is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff. All home Lindenwood football games will be aired on ESPN+.
