COLUMBIA, MO — A shaky fourth quarter, full of missed shots and turnovers, cost the University of Missouri women’s basketball team on Sunday.

The Tigers entered the fourth quarter of a key SEC game against rival Arkansas, trailing by a point. But Missouri was outscored 18-10 in the fourth quarter, after missing 10 shots and committing five turnovers in that final stanza of what proved to be a 67-58 loss to the visiting Razorbacks.

Missouri, which is now 11-10 on the season, has lost three staight games and six of its last eight. The defeat was also the 11th straight versus Arkansas, which is now 16-6 this year.

The Razorbacks were led by Saylor Poffenbarger, who scored 24 points and tied a school record with eight three-pointers. One of those makes was on the first possession of the fourth quarter to put Arkansas ahead 52-48.

Missouri’s Hayley Frank responded with a short jumper of her own to make it 52-50. That was as close as the Tigers would get, as Poffenbarger hit another three to put the Razorbacks up by five, from which they never looked back.

That final three by Poffenbarger sparked a 12-4 Arkansas run, which put the Razorbacks up 64-54 with 3:49 left in the game. Missouri didn’t score again until Frank made a layup with 1:25 to go.

But that proved to be too little too late, as Arkansas was able to run out the clock and head home with a win.

Sophomore guard Ashton Judd led Missouri with 21 points, on eight-of-12 shooting, which included three three-pointers. She also had six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Frank finished with 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Missouri will look to right its ship next Sunday, when the travels to Knoxville to play Tennessee.
