ST. LOUIS, MO — Grad student senior Tim Dalger has left the Saint Louis University men’s basketball program due to an urgent personal family matter.
“I would like to thank Saint Louis University for an amazing opportunity,” Dalger said in a statement released by the SLU athletics department. “My time here has allowed me to grow and learn so much. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to continue due to an urgent personal family matter. I look forward to my future endeavors with hopes of pursing a professional playing career. Thank you for everything, SLU.”
Dalger was in his fifth year of eligibility, and first at Saint Louis. He played his first two seasons of college ball at Independence Community College, then went to Tulsa for two years.
He transferred to SLU this season, appeared in all 18 games, and averaged 9.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
“Tim is a fine young man and we wish him nothing but the best,” SLU head coach Travis Ford said. “I am confident that Tim will be able to fulfill his aspirations to eventually play professionally, and he knows that we are here to support him moving forward.”
SLU will play its next game on Wednesday, when it will host Davidson at Chaifetz Arena. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
