CHESTERFIELD, MO — The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s basketball team got back on the winning track with an impressive 91-66 victory over crosstown rival Maryville University, in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game, Thursday night at Moloney Arena.
UMSL set single game-highs for scoring (91 points), field goals made (35), three-point field goals made (16), field goal percentage (59.3 percent), and assists (26), and shot a season-high 55 percent from three-point range in one of the club’s biggest wins of the season.
In fact, the 91 points scored were the most UMSL scored in a game since it scored 92 points in a win over Rockhurst in the GLVC Tournament in 2023.
Seven different Triton players scored in double figures, led by freshman and Florissant native, Quenton Parker, who dropped a career-high 19 points on seven-of-13 shooting, which included five threes. Teammate Troy Glover also had a big night. He added 17 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.
Senior Savon Wykle scored 15 points and made three three-pointers, while fellow senior Emanuel Prospere added 12 points, nine assists, and five rebounds, and grad student Janeir Harris scored 12 points (all on three-pointers) of his own.

UMSL led virtually the entire game and were up by as many as seven in the first half after a three by Wykle with 10:36 remaining in the stanza. Maryville rallied to tie the game at 27 but the Tritons finished the half on a 15-8 run to take a 42-35 lead into the locker room at the break.
The Saints scored on their first possession of the second half to draw within five before UMSL pulled away thanks to a 19-8 run spanning nearly seven minutes. Wykle had six points in that run with Glover adding five more.
The Triton lead grew to as many as 27 with less than a minute to go after Parker’s fifth three of the night.
The game also set what is believed to be an NCAA record with only one foul called in the first half and that was a flagrant foul called on UMSL. There were no personal fouls whistled in the first half and only 11 total fouls called in the contest.
The Tritons finished the game going 35-for-59 from the field, including 16-of-29 from three and shot 71 percent at the foul line. They outrebounded Maryville 38-to-27.
The Saints were held to 41 percent (26-for-64) shooting in the contest but were 9-of-30 from three and shot 63 percent at the foul line. Luke Williams led Maryville in scoring with 15 points.

The win moved UMSL back to the .500 mark for the season. The Tritons are 9-9 overall and 7-4 in GLVC league play.
UMSL currently sits in fourth place in the GLVC standings, a half-game behind third place Upper Iowa (7-3) and a half-game ahead of fifth-place Rockhurst (6-4).
After playing six games in 11 days, UMSL will get this weekend off. But the Tritons will return to action next Thursday, when they’ll host Illinois-Springfield in a contest at the Mark Twain Building.
Tip off for that matchup is set for 7:30 p.m., and it will follow a contest between the school’s women’s teams which will begin at 5 p.m.
