NORMANDY, MO — The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s basketball team earned its third win in less than a week on Thursday, when it defeated the University of Indianapolis, 66-59, in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game at the Mark Twain Building.
The Tritons and Greyhounds were in a tight ballgame for the first three quarters of the game, but UMSL grabbed the lead for good midway through the second half, when it went on a 15-2 run from the 10-minute mark to just under the five-minute mark that turned a tie game until a 58-45 UMSL lead.

Four Triton players scored in double figures, led by junior KC Udolisa, who had 16 points on six-of-nine shooting, to go along with three rebounds and three assists. Senior Savon Wykle scored 15 points and added eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Fellow senior Janeir Harris came off the bench to score 13 points, while junior big man Troy Glover added 10 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots.
Udolisa was an important figure during UMSL’s key return to take control of the game. The 6-foot-4 dynamo from Sugar Land, Texas, made a layup and a three-pointer on back-to-back possession that gave the Tritons a five-point lead. Then he grabbed a key rebound and made two free throws that helped pushed the Triton lead to 10 points.
Harris capped that run with a three-pointer that forced UIndy to call one of its final timeouts and allowed UMSL to set the stage for the win.
The Greyhounds did pull within seven points in the final minute, but that was as close as the visitors would get, as the Triton defense held off UIndy’s final challenges.

UMSL is now 3-5 on the season and 3-0 in GLVC play. UIndy is 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Tritons will look to complete the sweep for the current homestand when they host Lewis University on Saturday. Tip off time is set for 3 p.m., following a women’s game between the two schools, which will start at 1 p.m.
