NORMANDY, MO — The University of Missouri-St. Louis athletics department released its 2024-25 men’s basketball schedule on Tuesday.
UMSL will play 27 regular season games — 11 at home, 10 true road games, and six at neutral sites — beginning the weekend of November 8 and 9, when the Tritons will play in the JustAGame Crossover in Wisconsin.
On those dates, UMSL will play Michigan Tech in its season opener on November 8, and then face Northern Michigan, the following day on November 9. The JustAGame Crossover is the first of three off-site events the Tritons will play in this season.
The other events will include a two-day trip to Lebanon, Ill., for a pair of games at McKendree University later in November, and then a trip to San Antonio to play in the River City Holiday Classic in December.

UMSL’s first home game will be on November 13 against Winona State. Tip off that evening at the Mark Twain Building is set for 6 p.m.
The Tritons will once again compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, which is back up to 15 teams with the addition of Lincoln University this season.
UMSL will play 20 conference games — 10 at home and 10 on the road — which will consist of home-and-home meetings against six league opponents, home games only against four opponents, and road games only against four different opponents.
This season, the Tritons will play home-and-home against Illinois-Springfield, Indianapolis, Lewis, Maryville, Quincy, and Upper Iowa. UMSL’s home game only GLVC opponents will be Drury, McKendree, Rockhurst, and Southwest Baptist.
UMSL’s road game only league opponents will be Lincoln, Missouri S&T, Truman State, and William Jewell.

Last year, UMSL went 13-16 overall, but was 11-9 in conference play. The Tritons earned a berth in the GLVC Championship Tournament, but lost in the first round in an overtime thriller to Upper Iowa.
The previous two years, UMSL made it to the GLVC Tournament championship game, which it won in 2022, but lost in 2023.
The Tritons also made it to the finals of the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regionals both of those years, losing in 2022, but winning in 2023, when UMSL made it to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, before falling to eventual undefeated national champion, Nova Southeastern.

The UMSL women’s team also released its 2024-25 schedule on Tuesday. The Tritons will play the same conference schedule as the men, but will have a few differences in its non-conference schedule.
The UMSL women will also begin their season on November 8, with a home game against Roosevelt. The Tritons will also play an exhibition game at SIU-Edwardsville on November 4.
The other big difference in the UMSL men’s and women’s basketball schedules this season is the women will be spending part of their Christmas break in Puerto Rico. The Tritons will play in the Puerto Rico Classic, December 14-18. The game schedule and opponents have yet to be determined, but UMSL was invited to participate and the Tritons accepted the invitation.
The first home date when both teams will play on the same day at the same location is December 2, when both Triton teams will play at the Mark Twain Building against Maryville.
