The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball climbed two spots from sixth to fourth in the first AVCA/Taraflex Division II Top-25 Poll of the season announced on Monday.
The Tritons went 4-0 last weekend at the Union Volleyball Classic with three of those wins coming in straight sets. UMSL defeated Carson-Newman in five sets in the season opener then swept host Union, Harding, and Limestone.
UMSL returns to the court this Friday where it’ll take on No. 9 West Texas A&M and No. 24 Regis in pool play at the Colorado Premiere Challenge at the Regis Field House in Denver. The Tritons results in pool play will determine their opponents in the bracket play portion of the tournament on Saturday.
UMSL’s first home match of the season will be in 10 days, when the Tritons will begin Great Lakes Valley Conference play by taking on McKendree. First serve that night at the Mark Twain Building is scheduled for 6 p.m.
