SPRINGFIELD, IL — The University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s volleyball team picked up its first Great Lakes Valley Conference win of the season, Friday night, when it swept the University of Illinois-Springfield, three sets to none, at UIS’s Recreation & Athletic Center.
Grad student senior Charlotte Richards had another dynamite game for the Tritons, as she totaled a match-high 11 kills and added 13 digs to lead the UMSL attack.
Teammate Hannah Copeland, a freshman from Colona, Ill., had 10 kills and three blocks, while fellow freshman setter Caitlyn Bishop had 36 assists.
UMSL improved its record to 8-3, and will be back in action on Saturday, when it takes on Quincy in another GLVC match. UMSL’s next home match will be next Friday, September 23, when it will host Truman State.
