The Washington University in St. Louis volleyball team notched its fourth straight victory on Friday evening with a 3-0 road sweep at Greenville.
Wash. U. won the match 25-23, 25-16, 25-12, to improve to 15-7 on the season.
Additionally, Friday’s win marks the second time this season the Bears have defeated Greenville. Wash. U. won the previous match back on October 9 at the Wash. U. Field House.
Holding a .290 hitting percentage for the match, Wash. U. recorded 38 kills in three sets on 100 attacks.
The Bears also had a presence up front with seven total blocks on the night.
Wash. U.’s passing was on point and their hitting errors were at a minimum, while the Panthers posted 24 errors and were limited to 24 kills in the contest.
Senior Michaela Bach led the Bears’ attack with nine kills and finished the match with a .381 hitting clip, while also posting six digs and a solo block.
Faith Phillips posted a team-best 28 assists and added 11 digs, while junior Taryn Gurbach collected a team-high 16 digs.
The Bears will enjoy a full week off before returning to the court next Saturday night, October 30, when it will play two matches as part of the Baden Invite at the Wash. U. Field House.
The club will begin the day with a match against Millikin at 10:30 a.m., and then will conclude the day with a match against DePauw at 3:30 p.m.
