ST. LOUIS, MO — The Washington University in St. Louis athletics department announced its 2023 football season schedule on Friday. The Bears will play 10 regular season games, five at home and five on the road.

The 2023 season opener will be on Saturday, September 2, when WashU will travel to Conway, Ark., to play Hendrix College. Week 2’s matchup will also be a road game, with the Bears traveling to Decatur, Ill., to play Milliken University.

WashU’s home opener will come in Week 3, when the Bears will host Carthage College on Saturday, September 23. Week 4 will also be a home game for WashU, when it hosts North Park University.

The Bears’ other home games will come in Week 6, against Augustana College, in Week 8, against Elmhurst University, and in the regular season finale in Week 10, against Carroll University.

WashU had a banner 2022 season, as it went 8-3 and played in the inaugural Culver’s Isthmus Bowl.

The Bears are expected to be led in 2023, by returning offensive stars Collin Goldberg and Kenneth Hamilton.

Both players were all-CCIW selections last year, with Goldberg leading WashU in receiving (50 catches, 819 yards, nine touchdowns), and Hamilton serving as the Bears’ top dual threat performer (869 rushing yards, 330 receiving yards, and 20 total touchdowns).
