CLAYTON, MO — The Washington University baseball team won its final home game of the 2025 regular season on Tuesday. And it was quite a victory.
The Bears took down longtime crosstown rival and No. 19-nationally ranked Webster University, 9-2, in a game at Kelly Field.
WashU banged out 12 hits and also drew five walks to earn its sixth straight victory. The Bears are now 23-13 on the season and were listed among “those receiving votes” in this week’s D3Baseball.com Top 25 rankings poll.

The stars of the day were WashU’s 1, 2, and 3 hitters — Brandon Buday, Colter Couillard-Rodak, and Noah Reichman — who combined to go 7-for-13 at the plate, with four runs batted in, and seven runs scored.
Reichman, the grad student first baseman, who transferred to WashU this season, had two hits, drew a walk, and was hit by a pitch to reach base four times. One of those hits was his team-leading eighth home run of the season.
Couillard-Rodak also had two hits, including an RBI double in the Bears’ five-run fourth inning. He also had an RBI and scored three runs in the game.
Buday had three hits, an RBI, and two runs scored.

WashU used four pitchers in the game. Sophomore Parker Guthrie started and pitched two scoreless innings. He allowed no hits or walks, but did strike out three batters.
Junior Miles Quemel-Labrador pitched the final four innings to get the win. He allowed no runs and gave up just two hits, with no walks, and three strikeouts.
The victory was Quemel-Labrador’s team-leading sixth win of the season. In 12 appearances, he is 6-0 on the season.

The Bears will close out their regular season this weekend, with a trip to Georgia, where they will face Emory University in a four-game series.
WashU is looking to make the NCAA postseason and will need to win at least two games this weekend to give themselves a chance.
The NCAA Tournament begins in two weeks.
