BOILING SPRINGS, NC — After beginning the season with a rough three-game losing streak, the Lindenwood University football team has played much better over the last month.
The Lions have won three of their last four games, including last week’s dominant 29-14 victory over Charleston Southern, which has Lindenwood tied for third place in the Big South-OVC Football Association standings with Tennessee-Martin at 2-1. Southeast Missouri State is in first place at 3-0, with Tennessee State right behind at 3-1.
Lindenwood, which has a 3-4 overall record this season, has a chance to move past UT Martin and grab sole possession of third place this week. The Skyhawks are on a bye and don’t play this week.
Gardner-Webb, the 2023 co-champions of Big South-OVC, have experienced a mighty downfall this season. The Bulldogs are 1-5 this year and were blown out in both its last two games against Tennessee Tech and UT Martin.
The Bulldogs lost their first three games this season and are hoping to avoid a second three-game losing streak.
