Washington University men’s basketball players Hayden Doyle and Drake Kindsvater were named D3Hoops.com Preseason All-America Third Team selections, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The two WashU seniors are two of the top returning players for a Bears squad, which checked in as No. 4 in the D3hoops.com Preseason Top 25.
Last year, WashU finished 20-8 overall and reached the Sweet 16, falling to eventual-national champion Trine University.

Doyle, a 6-foot-1 guard, was an NABC Second Team All-American, NABC First Team All-District and First Team All-UAA selection last season, who averaged 15.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Doyle also had 97 assists, 32 steals, eight blocks, and surpassed the 1,000 career-point mark last year.

Kindsvater played in just 14 games last year due to an injury, but was having a magnificent year before that occurred. The 6-foot-6 combo forward was leading the Bears in scoring and rebounding with a 16.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game average.
This season, both players are fully healthy and expect to be in the Bears lineup when WashU opens the new season with a home game on Friday, November 8 against Rhodes College.
Tip off that evening at the WashU Field House is slated for 7 p.m.
