ST. LOUIS, MO — The third-largest crowd in the history of Saint Louis University women’s soccer watched the No. 23-ranked Billikens defeat rival Missouri, 1-0, in the team’s 2025 home opener at Hermann Stadium on Sunday.
Senior slasher Rylee Howard scored her second goal of the season in the game’s fifth minute and the Saint Louis defense made that mark stand for the team’s second shutout win of the season.
SLU is now 2-1 on the season, while Mizzou fell to 1-1-1.

Howard, a senior from Wildwood, who played her high school ball at Lafayette High, won a one-on-one battle for the ball deep in Mizzou territory, then lifted a touch shot over Missouri goalkeeper Kate Phillips’ head for the only score of the game.
The Tigers tried to battle, but SLU’s defense smothered nearly every attempt. Missouri had seven shots in the game, but only one on goal. The Billikens, on the other hand, had 12 shots — five on goal.
Howard led all players with four shots.
SLU goalkeeper Emma Parker played all 90 minutes and earned her first career solo shutout.
The Billikens will be back in action on Thursday, August 28, when they’ll host Indiana. Opening kick at Hermann Stadium that evening is set for 7 p.m.
