NORMANDY, MO — The University of Missouri-St. Louis athletics program announced its 2025-26 men’s basketball schedule on Wednesday.
UMSL will play 28 regular season games, beginning with the season opener on November 1 against Northwest Missouri State. That game will be played at the Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo., as part of the 2025 NCAA Division II CCA Tip-Off Classic.
The Tritons will play two games at that event. The next day, UMSL will face the host school, Missouri Western State.
Overall, UMSL will host 12 home games this season, play 10 games on the road, and play six more at neutral sites.
UMSL’s first home game will come on November 26, when the Tritons will host Kentucky Wesleyan in a non-conference matchup at the Mark Twain Building.

UMSL will once again play in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. That schedule consists of 20 games — 10 at home and 10 on the road — with the top eight teams earning a spot in the conference tournament, where the winner will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament.
Last year, UMSL finished second in the conference standings, with a 21-12 overall record and a 15-5 league mark. The Tritons were the No. 2 seed in the GLVC Tournament and advanced to the tournament championship game, before losing to Lincoln University.
UMSL still earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament, where it pulled off upsets over Ferris State and Missouri S&T to advance to the Midwest Regional Finals for the third time in the last four years.
The Tritons won the conference championship in 2022 and claimed the regional title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Division II Elite Eight in 2023.

UMSL will play two home games in November, just one in December (on December 13 against Wisconsin-Parkside), but that will be made up for with five home games in January and four in February.
The new-look Tritons will feature 10 transfers on this year’s team, as well as several former St. Louis-area high school stars, including Quenton Parker (Cardinal Ritter); Mason Dunlap (Eureka); Jayden Creighton (University City); Meechy Phillips (Lutheran St. Charles); and Rashad Smith (Pattonville).
