Saturday’s double-overtime win over Auburn wasn’t pretty, but it was enough for the Missouri Tigers to move into the Top 15 teams in the Associated Press national football poll.
Missouri, which was ranked No. 16 heading into last week’s matchup at Auburn, moved up one spot and is now ranked No. 15 in the country by the AP. The Tigers were slotted No. 14 in this week’s USA Today/Coaches Poll.
That sets up a true Top 15 matchup this Saturday, when Mizzou goes down south again for its second road trip of the season, down to Nashville, for a matchup against No. 10-ranked Vanderbilt.
The Commodores are coming off a dominant win over then-No. 10 LSU, and like Mizzou, are 6-1 overall and 2-1 in Southeastern Conference play.
The SEC announced on Sunday that this week’s Missouri-Vanderbilt contest will kick off at 2:30 p.m., and be televised live on ESPN. It was also announced that ESPN’s flagship college football pre-game show, “College Gameday”, will do its broadcast from Vanderbilt’s campus in Nashville.

Ohio State remained the No. 1-ranked team in the country in both polls for the sixth straight week. Indiana moved up to No. 2, with Texas A&M — Mizzou’s next home opponent on November 8 — just behind at No. 3.
Those rankings were the same in both polls, as were slots No. 4 through 9, which went (in order) to Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and Miami. The first difference was spot No. 10, where Vandy got the nod in the AP, but BYU was ranked 10th by the Coaches.
Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech were the teams ahead of Missouri in the AP poll. Texas Tech was behind Mizzou in the Coaches poll.
