NASHVILLE, TN — No one would’ve predicted this before the season, but the game of the day in Week 7 of the 2025 NCAA football season might be No. 15 Missouri heading down south to take on No. 10 Vanderbilt.
This is the first time Vanderbilt has been ranked in the Associated Press Top 10 since the 1940s, and even though most thought Missouri would be good, not many thought the Tigers would be back amongst the Top 15 this year.
But both clubs have been dynamite so far this fall and will head into Saturday’s matchup with matching 6-1 overall and 2-1 SEC records.
Vanderbilt has been led by its high-powered offense, while Mizzou has been one of the most balanced teams, offensively and defensively, this season.
Both teams will be coming off exciting victories last week. Mizzou beat Auburn in double overtime, while Vanderbilt dominated LSU.
The winner of this contest could have an inside track into making the CFP Playoffs in December and January.

Players to Watch: Both teams are led by their quarterbacks. Mizzou’s Beau Pribula struggled some last week, but he made several fantastic throws at critical moments, and he scored the game-winning touchdown in OT.
For the year, Pribula is fifth in the SEC with 1,617 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes.
RB Ahmad Hardy is coming off two games in a row where he didn’t reach 100 yards, after going for over 100 in Mizzou’s first four games. But he still leads the SEC with 840 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Tiger WR Kevin Coleman has 44 catches for 449 yards, and tight end Brett Norfleet leads Mizzou with five touchdown catches.
The Mizzou defense features two of the best pass rushers in the nation in Damon Wilson and Zion Young. Wilson leads the Tigers with 5.5 quarterback sacks. Young has 5.0 and is the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Week, after registering 2.0 sacks and a number of QB hurries and pressures last week.

Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia is one of the top dual-threat QBs in the country. He has 1,569 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, and also leads the Commodores in rushing with 438 yards and four touchdowns.
Vandy’s top rushing threat not named Pavia, is RB Sedrick Alexander, who has 361 yards and six touchdowns.
Pavia’s favorite passing target this season has been TE Eli Stowers. A projected NFL top pick in the Draft next season, Stowers has 28 catches for 355 yards and two touchdowns.
When Vandy wants to make a big play, Pavia looks for WR Junior Sherrill, who has 25 catches for 304 yards and five touchdown catches.
