CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — The Lindenwood University football team finished off its 2025 season with a 30-13 victory over Southeast Missouri State, in the annual ‘Game Ball Brawl’ at SEMO’s Houck Stadium in Cape Girardeau.

It was the second year in a row that Lindenwood has defeated SEMO to win the ‘Game Ball Brawl’.

This year, the Lions did it with a dynamite defensive performance, where they held the Redhawks to just 15 rushing yards for the entire game, forced two SEMO turnovers, and stopped SEMO on 10 of its 16 third-down opportunities. Lindenwood also sacked SEMO’s quarterback three times.

Linebacker Jacob Waller had six tackles (five solo) to lead the Lion defense. Teammates Kobe McClendon and Jayden Patrick both had five tackles on a day where the Lindenwood defense dominated the day.

Offensively, the Lions were led by running backs Jared Rhodes and Steve Hall, who combined for 136 rushing yards and scored one touchdown apiece. Rhodes finished with 87 yards on 16 carries, while Hall racked up 57 yards on 13 carries, including a 41-yard run that helped set up Lindenwood’s first score.

Quarterback Nate Glantz also had a fine day, as he threw for 127 yards and rushed for two touchdowns of his own.

Lindenwood finished the year with a 6-6 record, having won three of its last four. The Lions were also 5-3 in conference play, which tied with Gardner-Webb for third place in the OVC-Big South Football Association league standings.

Tennessee Tech went 11-1 on the season and undefeated in the conference to win the league championship this year.
