ORLANDO, FL — After suffering a rough loss to the rival DC Defenders last week and four straight weeks of getting off to slow starts, the St. Louis Battlehawks came out rolling in their matchup with the previously unbeaten Orlando Storm, Saturday at Inter&Co Stadium.
The Battlehawks dominated play throughout the first 2 1/2 quarters and built a 25-0 lead, then held off a late Storm rally to earn a 25-17 win.
“(This win) just gives us the confidence that we can play against the best,” St. Louis head coach Ricky Proehl said, on the field after the game. “(Orlando) is a well-coached team. We knew they weren’t going to quit and at halftime, we talked about how we have to keep fighting because there’s a lot of football left.”

St. Louis was led by its defense, which held Orlando to just 211 total yards, most of which came in the final 20 minutes of the game. The Battlehawks also forced a turnover, posted two quarterback sacks, four tackles for loss yardage, and stopped the Storm on fourth down four different times.
Orlando also missed two field goals in the game, which allowed St. Louis to maintain its lead throughout.
The Battlehawk offense was led by quarterback Harrison Frost, who struggled some early, but still put together a nice bounce back effort, after a near-catastrophic performance in last week’s loss to DC.
Frost completed just six passes in that game, but was 20-for-31 for 185 yards and a touchdown on Saturday. He also rushed for what proved to be the game-winning score, on a 4-yard scramble, early in the third quarter.
“We’ve been the ones chasing and trying to get back into the game at the end (every week),” Proehl said, “so it was great to get a lead and hold it.”
The Battlehawks running back duo of Jarveon Howard and Kevon Latulas also had a fine day. The power rushing tandem combined for 22 carries and 96 yards.
Teammate Kylin James scored the first touchdown of the game, on a 1-yard plunge to conclude the opening drive of the game. Frost played a big hand in that by converting two third-downs into first downs, with a 27-yard dart to Hakeem Butler and and 16-yard pinpoint toss to Tyler Neville.

St. Louis stopped Orlando on fourth down on both of its first two drives, then scored again early in the second quarter, when Frost found James Bostic for an 8-yard touchdown to make the score 12-0.
The Battlehawks added a pair of field goals late in the half to take an 18-0 lead into the break.
“We just didn’t start well and couldn’t find any rhythm at all,” Storm head coach Anthony Becht said. “Their defense applies a lot of pressure and we wanted to attack that, but we just couldn’t get what we wanted and couldn’t execute how we wanted until we were too far behind.
Frost’s touchdown run came early in the third, after the Battlehawks defense stopped Orlando on fourth down again to give its offense the ball on Orlando’s 41.
St. Louis only needed four plays to convert that into a score, thanks to a 31-yard run by Howard that put the ball on Orlando’s 10-yard line, just two minutes into the third quarter.
The Storm stopped two run plays from getting into the end zone, but couldn’t stop Frost, when he dropped back to pass on third-and-goal, but saw a wide gap open in front of him, which allowed him to cruise into the end zone for his team’s third touchdown of the day.

Orlando answered quickly with a touchdown drive of its own, then a blocked punt, which set the Storm up with the ball on St. Louis’ 1-yard line. Orlando scored again to make it 25-14 late in the third.
The Battlehawk offense didn’t produce any more points, but was able to hold the ball enough that even an Orlando field goal in the fourth, which brought the Storm back to within a score, wasn’t enough to bring the home team all the way back.
St. Louis stopped Orlando once last time, with just over a minute left to close out the game.
“Our defense was great today,” Proehl said. “Just really aggressive and constantly making smart plays that kept Orlando from driving the field, like they had done in pretty much all their games this season.”

The victory lifted St. Louis’ season record to 3-2, which is tied with the Dallas Renegades for third place in the UFL standings. The top four teams make the playoffs, and halfway through the 2026 season, the Battlehawks would be the team that earned that fourth playoff slot.
Orlando is now 4-1 on the year, tied with DC for first place in the league standings.
St. Louis will have a quick turnaround, as it’ll play its third road game in a row, this Thursday, April 28, against the Louisville Kings. That matchup at Louisville’s Lynn Family Stadium is set to kickoff at 7 p.m., and will be televised nationally on FS1.
