LOUISVILLE, KY — The St. Louis Battlehawks improved to 4-2 on the 2026 United Football League season, by defeating the Louisville Kings, 16-3, Thursday night at the Lynn Family Stadium.
St. Louis dominated the night, thanks to a strong defensive effort, which saw the Battlehawks hold the Kings to 166 total yards, force two turnovers, and sack Louisville quarterback Chandler Rogers six times.
“It was a really good night for our defense,” Battlehawks head coach Ricky Proehl said. “They really got after their guys upfront. We felt like we had an advantage coming in and once we got going, we knew we didn’t want to let up. That’s an explosive team over there and we didn’t want to give them any chance to get started.”
The victory keeps St. Louis firmly in the race to make the UFL playoffs. Heading into the rest of the Week 6 schedule, the Battlehawks are tied with Orlando and DC for most wins in the league.

St. Louis was led by improving young quarterback Harrison Frost, who began the game with an awkward turnover on a backwards pass, but finished the night with 242 passing yards and two touchdowns.
Those scores helped the Battlehawks overcome an early deficit, after Louisville scored on a field goal on its opening possession. The Kings got the ball back, following Frost’s turnover, but weren’t able to convert that gift into points due to a missed field goal.
From that point on, the rest of the night was all Battlehawks.
St. Louis scored its first points early in the second quarter, on a 42-yard field goal by new kicker Ramiz Ahmed, who signed with the club this week due to an injury to previous kicker Tucker McCann.
The Battlehawks drove 61 yards on six plays to get their first touchdown, late in the second quarter, when Frost found Gary Jennings for a 4-yard touchdown. That sent the game into halftime with St. Louis holding a 9-3 lead.

The second half was all St. Louis defense, as the Battlehawks forced the Kings to punt on six straight possessions, then forced a turnover, before ending the game with a turnover on downs.
St. Louis’ best drive of the night came early in the third, when the Battlehawks went 64 yards on 11 plays, which included several key pass completions by Frost, including a 26-yarder, which set St. Louis up in the Louisville red zone, and then an 11-yard touchdown toss to Steven McBride on third down that gave the Battlehawks their biggest lead of the night.
“We were just trying to be aggressive, all night tonight. Just trying to be aggressive,” Frost said. “We talked about how we saw some openings in their defense and how we wanted to exploit them some. I got the looks I wanted and I made the throws I needed to. We were in good sync as a unit tonight.”
Linebacker Jordan Williams and safeties Jordan Mosley and Tayler Hawkins led the defense with five tackles each. End rusher Pita Taumoepenu had two sacks to lead a pass rush that was in the Kings’ backfield all night.
“It was kind of like blood in the water,” Proehl said. “Once one guy got one, everybody wanted to get one. So guys were going all out to try to get to the quarterback all night.”
After playing three straight games on the road, the Battlehawks will be back in St. Louis next week, with a game next Friday, May 8, at The Dome at America’s Center against the Columbus Aviators.
Kickoff for that matchup is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be televised nationally on FOX.
