NORMANDY, MO — Coming off one its most successful seasons in program history, one that included its second NCAA Midwest Regional championship, the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s basketball team announced its 2023-24 season schedule on Tuesday.
UMSL will play 28 regular season games this winter, including 10 home games at the Mark Twain Building. The first of those on-campus contests will come on November 30, when UMSL begins Great Lakes Valley Conference play against William Jewell.
The season itself will begin on November 4 and 5, when the Tritons will play in the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic in Lakeland, Fla. That weekend, UMSL will play games against Cedarville (Nov. 4) and Bentley (Nov. 5).
That event will be one of five neutral site events the Tritons will play in this season. After beginning the year in Florida, UMSL will also play in events in Minnesota, Michigan, across town at Maryville University, and in an event in Las Vegas in December.
GLVC play will be a 20-game slate that will include home-and-home matchups against league rivals Maryville, McKendree, Quincy, Truman State, Lewis, and last year’s regular season conference champ Indianapolis.
Road games only this season will include trips to Illinois-Springfield, Drury, and new league opponent Upper Iowa. Teams the Tritons will see only at home include William Jewell, Rockhurst, and Missouri S&T.
UMSL hoops will also have a new look on the bench this year. The Tritons have six new players on the roster and a new assistant coach in former University of Texas at Tyler assistant Rob Rollinson.
