ST. LOUIS, MO — Fresh off another thrilling, late goal win, the Saint Louis University men’s soccer team will be back in action, Tuesday night at Hermann Stadium, with a non-conference matchup against Central Arkansas.

The Billikens have been on quite a roll since mid-September. They’re on a seven-game unbeaten streak, going 5-0-2, and in just the last 10 days, Saint Louis has won three straight, with all three victories coming via shutout.

The blue-hot string the team in currently on has also vaulted SLU into first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference standings. The Billikens are 4-0-1 in league play, which gives them 13 cumulative points and puts them one point ahead of Davidson, which is 4-1 in the conference.

Central Arkansas has had a tougher go on the field this season. The Bears are 2-6-2 on the year, with a 1-2-1 record in the Atlantic Sun Conference. UCA is coming off two straight losses and has just one win in its last five matches (1-3-1).

This will be the sixth meeting between the Billikens and Bears, with SLU owning an all-time 5-0 record in the series.

Players to Watch: Galen Flynn, Mason Hart and Diego Konincks were honored with weekly awards after helping Saint Louis earn those three straight shutout wins.

Flynn, a redshirt sophomore defender, was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. Hart, SLU’s redshirt freshman goalkeeper, was named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week. And Konincks, a grad student senior who scored the winning goal in the Billikens’ last game — a 1-0 win over La Salle — was named A-10 Defensive Player of the Week.

Sophomore forward CJ Coppola remains SLU’s leading scorer. He has four goals and an assist this season. Konincks is second on the team with three goals.

Central Arkansas is led by speedy sophomore Pietro Fontana, who has eight goals on the year.

Up Next: The Billikens will be back on the road and back into league play with their next match, when they’ll travel up to Chi-town on Saturday, October 14, to play Loyola Chicago. The Ramblers are 6-2-3 on the year, and currently tied for fifth place in the A-10 with a 2-1-2 league record.

SLU’s next home game will be the following Saturday, October 21, when the Billikens will host Dayton at Hermann Stadium.
