BIRMINGHAM, AL — Two University of Missouri football players received Player of the Week honors from the Southeastern Conference league office this week.

Running back Cody Schrader was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week and offensive lineman Javon Foster was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week, following Missouri’s resounding 34-12 Mayor’s Cup victory over South Carolina last Saturday.

Schrader ran for a Mizzou career-high 159 yards on 29 carries, which included touchdown runs of 10 and 11 yards. He broke the 100-yard plateau for the fourth time this season and 20th time in his career. Schrader carried the ball 13 times in the first half for 102, marking his season highs in both first-half carries and yards. He added two receptions for 11 yards to finish the game with 170 all-purpose yards.

Heading into Week 10, Schrader leads the SEC in rushing with 807 yards. Kentucky’s Ray Davis is second with 781 and LSU’s Logan Diggs is third with 611.

Foster led an offensive line unit which did not give up a sack against the Gamecocks. MU rushed for 213 yards overall – its second-highest output of the 2023 season. The Tigers scored on each of their three trips to the red zone, stretching their streak to 29-straight scoring conversions inside the opposition’s 20-yard line. Mizzou is now 33-of-34 on red zone scoring chances this season. He was also named to the PFF College Offensive Team of the Week.

SEC Offensive Player of the Week

CODY SCHRADER MISSOURI

  • Schrader broke the 100-yard mark for the fourth time this season and the 20th time in his career, amassing a Mizzou career-high 159 yards on 26 carries. He carried the ball 13 times in the first half for 102, marking his season highs in both first-half carries and yards.
  • The Tigers scored on each of their three trips to the red zone, stretching their streak to 29-straight scoring conversions inside the opposition’s 20-yard line. Mizzou is now 33-of-34 on red zone scoring chances this season.
  • The Mizzou offense has scored 149 points in their first four conference games, the highest point total through the first four games of any of its 12 SEC seasons, as well as its best mark through four league games since 2007.
  • The Tigers have logged six-straight games scoring at least 30 points, tying their longest streak against FBS competition since Aug. 31-Oct. 12, 2019.

SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

NATHANIEL WATSON MISSISSIPPI STATE
LB • Gr.Maplesville, Ala.
  • Watson earned a season-high 14 tackles in Mississippi State’s road victory over Arkansas. It was also Watson’s 14th career double-digit tackle game.
  • Watson tied his season-high in sacks with two. His two sacks resulted in a loss of 19-yards for Arkansas.
  • He recorded 5 solo tackles (tying a season best) and 9 assisted tackles with two tackles-for-loss.
  • Watson tied for the most tackles (14) and the most sacks (2) by any SEC player during week 8.
  • He was the only SEC Defender to lead his team in both tackles and sacks in week 8.
  • Watson’s 14 tackles were the most he has had in a single-game since earning 16 against Georgia in 2022.
  • Watson has recorded at least a half sack in five straight games, the longest streak of his career.
  • He has recorded at least a split tackle for loss in every game this season.
  • Watson earned his 300th career tackle in Saturday’s win over Arkansas.

SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

JIHAAD CAMPBELL ALABAMA
LB • So.Erial, N.J.
  • Campbell exploded for a career-high 10 tackles in the Crimson Tide’s come-from-behind 34-20 win over No. 15 Tennessee.
  • Picked up a Joe Milton fumble and raced 24 yards to give Alabama a two-score lead.
  • Added a tackle for loss (-4 yards) with six solo stops.
  • Played a key role in shutting out Tennessee in the second half and just 129 second-half yards and just 33 rushing.

SEC Special Teams Player of the Week

WILL REICHARD ALABAMA
PK • Gr.Hoover, Ala.
  • Reichard scored 10 points in a 34-20 come-from-behind victory over the 15th-ranked Volunteers.
  • He connected on field goals of 42 and 50 yards to extend his streak of consecutive field goals to 28.
  • Kicked off seven times with five touch backs and an average of 64.4 yards.
  • Hit all three extra point opportunities.
  • Moved to No. 5 on the NCAA all-time career points list with 496 after setting the SEC record a week ago.

SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week

JAVON FOSTER MISSOURI
OL • Gr.Detroit, Mich.
  • Mizzou’s highest graded offensive lineman in the Mayor’s Cup win over South Carolina.
  • The OL did not give up a sack vs. the Gamecocks.
  • The Tigers scored on each of their three trips to the red zone, stretching their streak to 29-straight scoring conversions inside the opposition’s 20-yard line. Mizzou is now 33-of-34 on red zone scoring chances this season.
  • The Mizzou offense has scored 149 points in their first four conference games, the highest point total through the first four games of any of its 12 SEC seasons, as well as its best mark through four league games since 2007.

  • Posted five total tackles and a team-high 1.5 sacks.
  • Directed a Rebel D that limited the Tigers to 275 yards of total offense.
  • Ole Miss contained Auburn to just 122 yards passing, the fewest by a Rebel opponent since holding Baylor to 40 in the 2022 Sugar Bowl, and the fewest against an SEC opponent since holding Mississippi State to 108 in 2019.
  • Pushed his career sack total to 15.0 and is the Rebels’ active career leader.

SEC Co-Freshman of the Week

SUNTARINE PERKINS OLE MISS
LB • Fr.Raleigh, Miss.
  • Led a potent Ole Miss defense in the road win at Auburn.
  • Posted five total tackles, four solos and a TFL.
  • Directed a Rebel D that limited the Tigers to 275 yards of total offense.
  • Ole Miss contained Auburn to just 122 yards passing, the fewest by a Rebel opponent since holding Baylor to 40 in the 2022 Sugar Bowl, and the fewest against an SEC opponent since holding Mississippi State to 108 in 2019.

SEC Co-Freshman of the Week

TREY HOLLY LSU
RB • Fr.Farmerville, La.
  • Led LSU with 91 yards on 6 carries in what was his debut with the Tigers.
  • Scored the final points of the game on a 67-yard with less than a minute remaining.
  • Averaged 15.2 yards per carry.
  • LSU had its fourth straight game with 200 rushing yards.
