The University of Missouri dropped one spot, from No. 6 to No. 7, in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 National Football Poll, which was released on Sunday.

The Tigers are coming off a thrilling 27-21 win over then-No. 24 Boston College, Saturday afternoon at Faurot Field.

Missouri remained ranked No. 8 (although now tied for the spot with Penn State) in the USA Today Coaches Poll, which was also released on Sunday.

In the AP poll, Mizzou was passed by Tennessee, which defeated Kent State on Saturday, 71-0.

Georgia, which had been No. 1, fell to No. 2, following its narrow 13-12 win over Kentucky. Texas, which last week jumped Ohio State to take over the No. 2 spot, jumped Georgia this week and is now the new No. 1. This is the first time the Longhorns have been ranked No. 1 in the country since 2008.

The No. 3, 4, and 5 spots remained the same, with Ohio State, Alabama, and Mississippi holding their same positions. Miami is No. 8. Oregon is No. 9. And Penn State is No. 10.

Most of the rest of the poll remained the same. Boston College and Arizona dropped out of the Top 25, with Illinois and Texas A&M moving up to claim their spots. Illinois is No. 24 and A&M is No. 25.

Dating back to last season, Missouri has been in the Top 25 since Week 5 and in the Top 15 since Week 8. This week will mark the third straight week that Mizzou is in the Top 10.

The Tigers (3-0) will be at home again this Saturday, when they’ll host Vanderbilt (2-1) in the SEC opener for both clubs. Kickoff at Faurot Field is slated for 3:15 p.m., and the game will be televised nationally on the SEC Network.
