ST. CHARLES, MO — The Lindenwood University athletics department released its 2024-25 men’s basketball schedule on Wednesday.

Lindenwood, which is coming off a 9-22 season last year, will play 31 regular season games this year — 14 at home, 14 on the road, and three neutral site games at an invitational event early in the season.

Lindenwood’s non-conference road schedule will be particularly challenging. The Lions will play at Oklahoma, at Valparaiso, at Missouri, and at Mississippi.

The season opener will be that game at Oklahoma on Monday, November 4. The games at Valpo and Mizzou will be mid-week games on Thursday, November 21 (Valpo) and Wednesday, November 27 (Mizzou). The Ole Miss game will be on Saturday, December 7.

“I think we have put together a challenging, yet competitive schedule that will prepare us for OVC play,” Lindenwood head coach Kyle Gerdeman said. “The guarantee games vs. Missouri, Oklahoma, Valpo, and Ole Miss will obvious be tough test for us, but the remaining non-conference games gives us a chance to test ourselves against more similar opponents.”

Lindenwood’s 2024-25 home opener will be on Thursday, November 7, at Hyland Arena against the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy, which plays at the NAIA level. That will be Lindenwood’s only home game in November.

After the home opener, the Lions will play in the Urban-Bennett Invitational hosted by Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Penn. The event will feature four teams — Lindenwood, New Orleans, Robert Morris, and Stonehill — each playing three games (one against each other) between November 14-17.

Lindenwood’s other three non-conference home games will be in December against East-West University (December 4), Harris-Stowe (December 10), and IU-Indy (December 14).

The Ohio Valley Conference schedule will begin in mid-December. The OVC includes 11 teams — Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, Little Rock, Morehead State, Southeast Missouri State, SIU-Edwardsville, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee-Martin, and Western Illinois — that will play in true round-robin slate of 20 league games to determine a regular season champion.

The top eight teams will qualify for the conference tournament, which will be played March 5-8 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind. The winner of the OVC Championship Tournament will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Lindenwood’s OVC home opener will be December 19 against Tennessee Tech. The regular season finale will also be against Tennessee Tech on March 1.

Game times and broadcast listings will be announced at a later date.
