BRONX, NY — The Saint Louis University women’s volleyball team made it two in a row, when it defeated Fordham University for the second time this weekend, in a three sets to none victory, Saturday afternoon.
Saint Louis won by scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.
Freshman Addy Brus had her second straight huge game for the Billikens. The 5-10 outside hitter from Cincinnati, posted a match-high 16 kills to go along with two service aces and seven digs.
It was the fifth time in SLU’s last six matches that Brus had at least 16 kills.
Fellow freshman Tea Kalajdzic had 12 kills and a match-high .476 hitting percentage. Redshirt junior Addie Lyon had 24 assists, while grad student Carlie Rodgers led the defense with 18 digs.

Fordham led for most of the first set, but Saint Louis went on a 5-0 run to take a 15-14 lead. The Rams tied the score several times over the next few points, before the Billikens took the lead for good at 19-18.
Saint Louis won seven of the final eight points to claim the set.
The second and third sets were all SLU, as the Billikens never trailed in either. Fordham did manage to force a couple of ties in the final two stanzas, but each time Saint Louis won the next point on its way to winning the match.

The two wins lifted SLU’s overall record to 7-7. The Billikens will have the chance to get back over .500, when it plays at Loyola Chicago on Tuesday, October 1.
Saint Louis’ next home matches will come next weekend, when the Billikens will host Duquesne on Friday and Saturday at Chaifetz Pavilion.
