The Big South-OVC Football Association announced its players of the week for Week 4 on Monday, and to no one’s surprise Lindenwood wide receiver Jeff Caldwell was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week.
Caldwell, who had no catches in the first half on Saturday’s conference opener against Eastern Illinois, caught four passes in the second half and scored touchdowns on all four of them to help lead Lindenwood to a thrilling 28-25 come-from-behind win.
For the game, the 6-foot-4 junior from Louisville, finished with four catches for 115 yards and the four scores. Caldwell’s touchdowns went for 11 yards, 22 yards, 8 yards, and 74 yards.
After his big day, Caldwell now has 23 receptions for 508 yards and seven touchdowns. His catch total is third-most in the conference, while the yardage and touchdown numbers are tops in the Big South-OVC. Caldwell also leads the league with a 22.1 yards per catch average.

This marks the third time that Caldwell has been named Big South-OVC Player of the Week. He won the award twice last season, on his way to earning First Team All-Conference honors.
Caldwell and the rest of the Lindenwood Lions will be back in action on Saturday, when they’ll host another Big South-OVC opponent, Tennessee State, in a game at Hunter Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
