CLAYTON, MO — The NCAA Division III No. 1 ranked women’s soccer team, Washington University, earned a 7-0 win over Greenville University, Tuesday night at Francis Olympic Field.
The Bears are now 10-0-1 on the season and are one of the 11 teams in women’s D3 soccer to remain unbeaten heading into October.
WashU scored six of its seven goals in the first half, including three by junior midfielder Grace Ehlert. The 5-foot-5 dynamo from Wilmette, Ill., now has nine goals on the season, after leading the Bears with 10 scores last season.

Senior Gaelen Clayton scored the first goal of the day at the 14:01 mark on a pass from first-year Cami Colpitts.
Clayton assisted on the next goal, chipping the ball to Madi Foley who finished it off for her fourth goal of the season.
Ehlert netted her first of three goals in the 29th minute to make it a 3-0 game and then took a long ball from junior Kaci Karl in the 31st minute to put the Bears up by four goals.
Ehlert completed the hat trick in the 35th minute, taking a corner kick from senior Sara Giannotti and heading it in for a 5-0 lead. She is now second on the team with nine goals this year.
Junior Ella Koleno got a short pass from first-year Olivia Clemons in the 40th minute and fired it in for a 6-0 Bears’ lead. It is Koleno’s fourth goal of the season.
Junior Kerrigan Ferland scored the final goal of the game in the 87th minute, controlling a ball following a scuffle in front of the goal and finishing it. It marks her second goal of the season.

WashU recorded 19 shots with 14 on goal and limited the Panthers to two shots. The Bears also had seven corner kicks to Greenville’s two.
Ehlert had a team-high four shots with three goals while Clayton had three shots, all on goal. Foley also had three shots with two on goal.
Grad student goalkeeper Sidney Conner, freshman Suzie Green, and sophomore Charlotte Shapiro combined for a shutout. Shapiro made the lone save of the game in the second half.
WashU will be in Atlanta this weekend, as the team begins UAA play, with a matchup against Emory on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Bears will play Piedmont on Sunday, also at 10 a.m.
