OXFORD, MS — There are four Top 10 matchups in college football this weekend, and one of the most highly anticipated ones will be the Southeastern Conference showdown between No. 13-ranked Missouri and No. 9 Mississippi.

Mizzou is coming off its second straight conference victory, after pummeling Texas A&M, 27-6, last week. Ole Miss also had a nice win last week. The Rebels blasted Vanderbilt, 52-17, following their suprising 52-28 loss to Florida three weeks ago.

The winner of Saturday’s contest will keep their SEC title hopes and CFB playoff dreams alive, while the loser might be staring at missing out on everything.

There’s no other way to put it… Saturday’s game between Mizzou and Ole Miss is a big game.

Players to Watch: The Tigers have been led the by SEC’s leading rusher, native St. Louisan Jamal Roberts, who registered his second straight 200+ yard game last week against A&M. Roberts put up a career-high 222 yards and two touchdowns, which was coming off 208 yards and three scores in the win over Florida.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder is averaging 5.6 yards per carry and ranks second in the nation with 828 rushing yards.

Mizzou quarterback Austin Simmons, who transferred to Columbia from Ole Miss this past offseason, is fifth in the SEC with 1,434 yards and second with 14 touchdown passes this year.

Receiver Cayden Lee, another Ole Miss transfer, leads the SEC with 42 catches for 616 yards. He also has five touchdowns. Teammate Donovan Olugbode leads the league with six touchdown catches.

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who took over as Ole Miss’s starter last year after Simmons got hurt, has thrown for 1,435 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Ole Miss’s top playmaker is receiver Deuce Alexander, who has 32 catches for 503 yards and five touchdowns. Running back Kewan Lacy, who started at Mizzou then transferred to Ole Miss last season, should be available, after missing two games earlier this month due to injury.

Mizzou’s next home game will be on November 7, when the Tigers will host current No. 7 Texas at Faurot Field.
