ST. CHARLES, MO — The Lindenwood University athletics department announced its 2024 baseball schedule on Monday.

The Lions will play 52 regular season games — 23 at home and 29 on the road — beginning with the season opener at Dayton on February 16.

Lindenwood’s home opener will come on March 1, when the Lions play, Nebraska-Omaha. That weekend, Lindenwood will play four games at the Lou Brock Sports Complex — two against UNO and two against Bradley.

“We are excited to get the season going at Dayton and play a quality non-conference schedule,” Lindenwood baseball coach PJ Finigan said. “It was intentional to get more home games at the renovated Lou Brock Sports Complex, and the home opening weekend with University of Nebraska Omaha and Bradley University should be a great test. The non-conference schedule should challenge and prepare us, as we look to improve our standing within the Ohio Valley Conference.”

After that, the Lions will play 13 straight road games, including a trip to the University of Missouri on March 5 and a weekend series March 22-24, that will begin Ohio Valley Conference play with a three-game set at SIU-Edwardsville.

Other interesting matchups on the 2024 Lindenwood baseball schedule include a home-and-home series against Saint Louis University on April 23 and May 7, and another trip to Mizzou on April 30.

In OVC league play this season, Lindenwood will play road series at SIUE, Southern Indiana, Morehead State, and Tennessee-Martin, while hosting weekend sets against Little Rock, Tennessee Tech, Western Illinois, Southeast Missouri State, and Eastern Illinois.

The OVC Tournament will be played May 22-25 at Marion Stadium in Marion, Ill. Last season, Eastern Illinois won two games on the first day, and after a loss on Thursday, won three more games, including topping Morehead State in the title game, to claim its third OVC Tournament Championship and first since 2008.
